VANCOUVER, Wash. – August 29, 2005 – Vancouvercenter announced today that the Columbia River Crossing Project has signed a five-year lease for the entire 3rd floor of its north office tower at 700 West Washington Street. Encompassing more than 15,000 square feet, the office space will be the new home of the project sponsored jointly Oregon Department of Transportation, Washington State Department of Transportation, and several local agencies. Approximately 50 agency and consultant employees assigned to the project will move into the space this fall.
“We are thrilled that the Columbia River Crossing Project is locating in Vancouvercenter, at the heart of the City,” said Nawzad Othman, the developer’s representative. “Their work will be critical to the future prosperity of Vancouver and has the potential to enhance the quality of life on both sides of the Columbia River.”
The Columbia River Crossing Project Team is charged with evaluating the potential expansion of capacity over the Interstate Bridge and finding solutions to traffic congestion issues on both sides of the river. A three-year environmental analysis began recently. The Columbia River Crossing Project is a unique collaboration co-sponsored by the Washington and Oregon Departments of Transportation, the Southwest Washington Regional Transportation Council, METRO, C-TRAN and TriMet.
